Indian Food In Europe-Indian food in Europe

With my extreme love for Indian traditional food and in general for good delicious food ,I planned to start a blog on the actual situation of the Indian food and restaurants in Europe and UK.

I have committed to have a personal review and assessment for different Outlets and Restaurants. The  Options available  so as to have a true picture for  the people hunting and lusting for true and authentic Indian food rendered  with quality service.

Keep visiting to know for my new and real time experiences on Indian food in Europe and UK.

Bon Appetit!!!

We are living in a time when the cuisines of other nations are taking hold of Western consumers, and this is especially true in Europe with a booming Indian food industry that is partly driven by the Indian business immigrant population in Europe and partly entrepreneurship. There also seems to be a strong demand for Indian food throughout the Europe and UK according to local consumer researchers. In fact, they say that there are just as many if not more Indian restaurants in London alone than in India and one of the best-loved dishes in the UK is curry as well as traditional British dishes.

Europe is following the footsteps of London in this case as the demand for the Indian food grows….

Roots of Indian Food in Europe

The first Indian restaurant to open was in the UK was called the Hindustani Coffee House and it was founded in 1809 by a man who was of Indian and Irish ancestry, Dean Mahomet. It closed in 1833, and it was not until the 20th century that the UK started to see a boom in the rise of Indian restaurants and markets that specialized in Indian food staples. The word “curry” comes from the Tamil word kari, which means spicy sauce. Nowadays you can find an Indian restaurant in most neighborhoods across the UK.

The roots of Indian restaurants and food markets go back to the 1940s and today the tradition continues.

Conclusion

Throughout the Europe’s history there has been a love affair with Indian cuisine, and it continues today. Nowadays you will see select British Indian cooking TV personalities show viewers how to prepare authentic Indian food for those wanting to learn how to make authentic Indian food.

The demand and love for the Indian food has been ever growing since I started this blog. More and more Indian Restaurants have come up all around Europe. The Europeans have fallen in love with the Indian Cuisine to the extent that now European Restaurants serve Indian food in their menu on selected days of the week.

This love for the Indian food in Europe shows us that it’s the correct path this is on now like at any other place on the globe. I am happy that the Indian food has start to get the same respect as it enjoys in other parts of the world:))))

Indian Food Cravings Satisfied at 29 Spice-Indian Food In Europe

Some food memories arrive late on paper but remain fresh in the heart. This visit to 29 Spice Indian Street Food and Restaurant in Charminster, Bournemouth is one such experience—long due since March 2025, yet impossible to forget.

My wife and I went for an early dinner, looking for something comforting and flavourful. For me, the timing could not have been better. I had recently returned from India, and like anyone who has travelled back from home, the cravings for authentic Indian food were hitting hard. I wasn’t looking for anything fancy—just honest flavours, warmth, and food that feels familiar. 29 Spice delivered exactly that, and more.

Located in the vibrant Charminster area, 29 Spice has a welcoming and unpretentious vibe. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with genuine warmth. The restaurant is owned and run by a Bangladeshi owner, and that personal touch shows clearly in both the service and the food. There’s a sense of pride in what they serve, and it reflects in every dish that comes out of the kitchen.

The service was excellent—friendly, attentive, and never rushed. We were given helpful suggestions, and the staff made sure we were comfortable throughout our meal. In an age where dining can sometimes feel transactional, this experience felt refreshingly human.

Now, coming to the most important part—the food. Every dish we tried was delicious, well-cooked, and beautifully served. The flavours were balanced, aromatic, and deeply satisfying. As someone who had just returned from India, I can confidently say the food hit the right notes. It reminded me of the street food culture and homely meals that make Indian cuisine so special.

The spices were not overpowering, the gravies were rich without being heavy, and the overall presentation was thoughtful. You could tell that care had gone into both preparation and plating. It wasn’t just about filling plates—it was about offering an experience that diners would remember.

What stood out the most was the consistency—good food paired with genuinely good service. That combination is what turns a simple dinner into a memorable evening. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the meal as well, and we both left feeling satisfied and happy.

29 Spice is the kind of place I would highly recommend to newcomers, especially those who have strong cravings for Indian food or are missing the flavours of the subcontinent. Whether you’re a local resident, a student in Bournemouth, or someone new to the area looking for reliable Indian cuisine, this restaurant deserves a visit.

Looking back, this dinner at 29 Spice was more than just a meal—it was comfort, nostalgia, and satisfaction served on a plate. It may have taken me a while to write about it, but some experiences are worth revisiting, even months later.

If you’re in Charminster and craving authentic Indian street food with warm hospitality, 29 Spice should definitely be on your list.

Enjoy Your Meals 🙂

From Bootcamp to Biryani: Angithi Poole Delight-Indian Food in Europe

Sometimes, the best reunions are the ones that mix friendship, food, and a touch of nostalgia. Last Christmas, amid the winter chill and festive lights, we finally caught up with a dear friend from our Digital Marketing Bootcamp days. After months of intense coursework, group projects, and virtual discussions, it was time for something much warmer — good food and laughter. And what better place to celebrate our little reunion than Angithi Takeaway and Restaurant in Poole?

From Bootcamp to Biryani: Angithi Poole Delight-Indian Food in Europe

Angithi, a cozy and compact Indian restaurant, is the brainchild of our friends Sameer and Neha, a lovely couple from Delhi. Having known Sameer for a while, I wasn’t surprised to learn that he finally decided to bring his culinary passion to life. With his deep experience in the restaurant industry, he and Neha have managed to infuse Angithi with an unmistakable blend of authenticity, warmth, and flavour that’s hard to find outside India.

We arrived early in the evening, eager to try out their food and soak in the welcoming vibes. The interiors were simple yet inviting — the aroma of freshly ground spices and sizzling curries filling the air was enough to awaken our appetite instantly.

Our evening began with some Papadums with inhouse tray of chutney. We opted for some bottled water for drinks which instantly sets the tone for a relaxed evening.

From Bootcamp to Biryani: Angithi Poole Delight-Indian Food in Europe

Then came the star of the night — Hyderabadi Biryani, lovingly prepared by Sameer himself. The first spoonful was enough to transport me back home. Each grain of rice was perfectly cooked, fragrant with saffron, and layered with tender, juicy pieces of chicken that had soaked in the rich Hyderabadi spices. It had just the right balance of heat and aroma — not overpowering, but bold enough to make you want another bite.

The service, too, reflected the same personal touch. Sameer’s staff made sure everything reached us at just the right temperature, checking in frequently without being intrusive. It felt less like dining out and more like being hosted by close friends — which, in a way, it was.

We wrapped up our meal with a classic Indian dessert, Gulab Jamun, served warm and soaked in syrup. Soft, spongy, and irresistibly sweet, it was the perfect finale to a beautiful evening.

As we sat there chatting about our bootcamp memories, future plans, and the joys of starting new ventures, I couldn’t help but feel proud of Sameer and Neha. Opening a restaurant is no small feat, but they’ve done it with style, passion, and a lot of heart.

If you’re ever in Poole and craving authentic Indian flavours — the kind that remind you of home-cooked meals and festive gatherings — Angithi is the place to be. From bootcamp to biryani, it was truly an evening to remember.

Some evenings just linger in your memory — not because of grand occasions or elaborate plans, but because of the people, the food, and the warmth that wraps around you like an old, familiar comfort. This evening at Dilli Haat Bournemouth was one of those moments.

Earlier this year, in the midst of business turmoil and constant work, I had been craving a pause — something simple yet special. That opportunity came when my aunt — my mom’s younger sister — came down from London to see us for a day. She lives in India but was visiting the UK for a short time, and her visit brought along that unmistakable family energy, stories, and laughter that every Indian household treasures. Naturally, I wanted her to experience one of Bournemouth’s most authentic Indian dining spots — Dilli Haat, located in the heart of Westbourne.

A Little Slice of Delhi in Bournemouth

Dilli Haat has long been close to my heart — and not just because it serves great food. Its owner, Arun, originally from Delhi, is a friend and someone who shares my passion for bringing the real taste of India to Europe. I had even had the pleasure of hosting him on my Indian Food in Europe Podcast, where we talked about the challenges and joy of introducing authentic Indian flavours to the Western palate.

Since opening its doors in 2017, Dilli Haat has become one of Bournemouth’s most beloved Indian restaurants. The name itself, borrowed from the famous open-air food and craft market in Delhi, captures the spirit of India — vibrant, colorful, and full of life. The restaurant mirrors that same energy, but with a touch of coastal charm unique to Bournemouth.

As we arrived that late evening, the cozy glow from inside instantly set the tone. The restaurant is compact yet inviting — its warm lighting, elegant décor, and subtle aroma of spices create an atmosphere that makes you forget you’re in England. For a moment, you feel transported to a street-side eatery in Delhi, where the clinking of cutlery and the sizzle from the tandoor form a melody of their own.

A Feast of Flavours

Unforgettable Evening with Aunt at Dilli Haat Bournemouth-Indian Food in Europe

We started our evening with a round of drinks — a refreshing Mango Lassi for my aunt (she’s a purist when it comes to Indian classics) and a Coconut Mojito for me and my wife. The balance of tropical sweetness and a hint of mint was just the perfect way to kick off the evening.

Then came the appetizers — and this is where Dilli Haat truly shines. We went for their signature Aloo Tikki Chaat, which was a colorful explosion of fried potato patties topped with a tangy sweet tamarind chutney and spicy green chutney along with curd (yogurt) — every bite bursting with the street food essence of Delhi. The Chicken Tikka followed soon after — beautifully marinated, perfectly charred, and tender to the core. The smokiness from the tandoor and the hit of spice left us speechless (except for my aunt’s approving “Wah!”).

For the mains, we decided to go traditional — Chilli Chicken,Dal Makhani, and Rara Gosht with a mix of Garlic Naan and Jeera Rice. Each dish carried the unmistakable stamp of authenticity — rich gravies, balanced spices, and the comforting taste that reminds you of home. The Chilli Chicken had that perfect blend of spices and texture, while the Dal Makhani, slow-cooked to perfection, delivered the earthy satisfaction that only true Indian lentils can.

Unforgettable Evening with Aunt at Dilli Haat Bournemouth-Indian Food in Europe

My aunt couldn’t stop talking about how the Dal Makhani tasted just like the ones she had back in India — soft, fresh, and full of flavour. The portion sizes were generous, and despite being full, we couldn’t resist trying their Gulab Jamun with Ice Cream for dessert — warm, syrupy, and just the right amount of sweet indulgence to end the night.

Hospitality Straight from the Heart

Unforgettable Evening with Aunt at Dilli Haat Bournemouth-Indian Food in Europe

What made our evening truly memorable, beyond the food, was the hospitality. Arun and his team have perfected the art of making guests feel at home. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and they handled every detail with grace — from explaining the dishes to customizing spice levels based on our preferences.

My aunt, visiting from India after a long time, was particularly touched. “It feels like being in a fine restaurant in Delhi,” she said, smiling. That comment said it all. Dilli Haat didn’t just serve us food — it served nostalgia, warmth, and a piece of India right here in Bournemouth.

Why Dilli Haat Stands Out

In a town filled with restaurants offering global cuisines, Dilli Haat stands apart because it doesn’t try to westernize Indian food. It stays true to its roots. Each dish on the menu represents a story — from the bustling streets of Chandni Chowk to the royal kitchens of North India.

Their culinary philosophy revolves around using high-quality ingredients and traditional cooking techniques to craft bold, flavourful dishes that reflect the rich heritage of Indian cuisine. Whether it’s their aromatic curries or sizzling tandoori specialties, you can taste the passion and precision in every bite.

A Night to Remember

As we stepped out after dinner, the night air of Bournemouth felt crisp, yet the warmth of that experience stayed with us. My aunt was delighted, my wife was smiling, and I felt content — the kind of satisfaction that only comes when good food, good company, and genuine hospitality come together.

Dilli Haat is not just another Indian restaurant — it’s an experience, a celebration of Indian culinary art, and a heartfelt reminder of home for those of us living far from it.

If you’re in Bournemouth or planning a visit, Dilli Haat in Westbourne deserves a spot at the top of your list. Whether you’re a fan of bold North Indian flavours or just looking for an authentic dining experience, this place will not disappoint.

That evening reminded me once again that food has the power to connect hearts, evoke memories, and turn a simple dinner into something truly unforgettable.

A Culinary Masterclass in Bournemouth: Our Unforgettable Christmas Feast at Gaja-Indian food in Europe

As a food blogger, and frankly, as someone who lives and breathes culinary excellence, I often find myself searching for those rare gems that transcend the ordinary. Forget your tired, predictable Indian takeaways; we’re talking about an establishment that elevates traditional flavours to an art form. And let me tell you, Gaja Restaurant in Bournemouth is precisely that kind of place.

It’s a crying shame that work and life’s relentless pace have kept me from penning this sooner, but our pre-Christmas dinner at Gaja last year was an experience that demands to be chronicled. This wasn’t just a meal; it was a symphony of tastes, a celebration of friendship, and a testament to truly passionate hospitality.

My wife and I, joined by two of our dearest friends—one a connoisseur of the grape, running a fantastic wine shop in town, and the other, a retired GP with his equally delightful wife—stepped into the warm embrace of Gaja. This wasn’t our first rodeo here; we celebrated my wife’s birthday in this very spot, a memory that still brings a smile to our faces. You can read about it here. And once again, Gaja delivered, not just a meal, but an experience.

From the moment you walk into this small, compact restaurant on Charminster Road, you feel it. It’s not just the subtle aroma of spices mingling with something distinctly modern; it’s the buzz, the energy. On this particular evening, the place was absolutely buzzing, alive with chatter, laughter, and the clinking of glasses. Yet, despite the vibrant hum, there’s an intimacy, a coziness, that makes you feel right at home. It’s a testament to the thoughtful design and, more importantly, to the heart and soul poured into it by the owners Kasia and Trevin.

Speaking of which, the owners of Gaja are, quite simply, exceptional. They are the epitome of hospitality, greeting every guest like an old friend, their warmth radiating through the entire establishment. This isn’t contrived customer service; this is genuine passion, a desire to ensure every person who walks through their doors leaves with a fantastic memory. Their presence, their attentiveness, and their sheer joy in what they do elevate the entire dining experience to another level.

Now, let’s talk about the main event: the food and drinks. Oh, the food! Forget what you think you know about Indian cuisine. Gaja serves up Indian and Contemporary Indian dishes, a delightful blend of rich traditional flavours with an elegant, modern twist. We embarked on a culinary journey, sharing a variety of starters that danced on the palate—crispy Masala Fish, perfectly spiced Chilli Chicken, and the delicate Paneer Shashlik . Each dish was a masterclass in balance, fresh ingredients singing with traditional spices.

Then came the main courses. While I won’t bore you with every single dish we devoured (you’ll have to see the photos for that!), highlights included the succulent Chicken Rogan Josh, a hearty dish with tender chicken and traced back to the culinary traditions of the Kashmir Valley, and the Rajasthani Lamb Curry, a vibrant, slow-cooked marvel topped with a fried egg – a true chef’s recommendation. The depth of flavour, the meticulous preparation, the sheer artistry on the plate – it was nothing short of brilliant. Bhindi Masala ,A North Indian dish made of stir fried okra & spices was uniquely exceptional. Their menu is a true masterclass of selection of dishes that are chosen with love and passion for the Indian cuisine.

Our wine merchant friend, with his discerning palate, was thoroughly impressed with their curated selection, which perfectly complemented the rich and aromatic dishes.

The beers and whisky were equally impressive, crafted with care and skill. As the evening progressed, fueled by fantastic food, delightful drinks, and the very best company, the conversation flowed effortlessly. We reminisced, we debated, we laughed until our sides ached. It was a lively evening, truly a fantastic one.

Gaja isn’t just a restaurant; it’s a destination. It’s where authentic Indian heritage meets culinary innovation, where every dish tells a story, and where the warmth of the owners transforms a meal into a cherished memory. You won’t just be eating; you’ll be indulging in a passion project, a culinary experience that will leave you wanting more.

Joyful Lunch at Pimlico Tandoori London-Indian Food in Europe

Alright ,This post is long over due .

Late last year, just before the Christmas lights took over London in all their festive glory, I had the wonderful chance to catch up with my daughter over a late afternoon lunch. We decided to meet at Pimlico Tandoori, a charming little restaurant tucked away in downtown Pimlico. Having heard about its reputation for authentic Indian cuisine and cozy atmosphere, we couldn’t wait to experience it for ourselves.

From the moment we stepped into Pimlico Tandoori , it felt like a warm embrace on a cold winter day. The restaurant, though compact, radiated a comforting and inviting vibe. Tasteful traditional Indian décor — rich tapestries, subtle lighting, and carefully chosen artwork — added an intimate and homely feel to the space. It wasn’t just a meal we were about to have; it was an experience.

The Legacy Lives On….

As we settled into our table, the proud owner came over to greet us. It was such a special touch — he sat with us for a few minutes, sharing stories of Pimlico Tandoori’s rich history. Since 1975, this family-owned gem has been weaving the essence of India into its culinary tapestry. Every word he spoke was full of pride and passion, and it made our dining experience even more meaningful. You could tell that every dish served here carried the weight of tradition and the love of generations.

The Culinary Journey Begins….

Soon, we found ourselves diving into a vibrant selection of mouthwatering snacks and drinks. We started with some crispy Papadums served with a trio of chutneys that teased our taste buds. The Tandoori Lamb Chops were perfectly cooked on the outside, yet soft and flavorful inside — just the way they should be.

For drinks, we enjoyed some refreshing mango lassis and a round of Indian beers to toast our much-awaited reunion. Each sip and bite seemed to bring more smiles and laughter to the table.

When it came time for the mains, we were spoiled for choice. I ordered the Chicken Dhansak — a classic done absolutely right, rich and creamy without being overly heavy. My daughter chose the Baby Baingon Bhaji – baby eggplants in medium spices (aubergine), which was velvety smooth and packed with bold flavors. Alongside, we had fluffy naan bread, aromatic basmati rice, and a hearty serving of Lamb Balti (Lamb cooked in chef’s special balti sauce, medium spiced)that was comfort food at its finest.

Hospitality Like No Other….

The service at Pimlico Tandoori was nothing short of exceptional. The staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to ensure we had a great time. To our delight, they surprised us with a plate of complimentary Indian sweets at the end of our meal — a thoughtful touch that made our lunch even more memorable.

The restaurant might be small, but that’s exactly where its magic lies. The cozy, cohesive atmosphere created a perfect setting for heartfelt conversations and laughter. It felt like being welcomed into someone’s home, surrounded by care, love, and amazing food.

A Perfect Afternoon

Seeing my daughter so happy and excited made my day even brighter. The energy, the stories, the delicious food, and the festive spirit in the air created a memory I’ll always treasure. After our hearty lunch, we wandered off to explore a nearby Christmas market. With twinkling lights overhead, cups of hot chocolate in hand, and the flavours of India still lingering on our palates, it truly felt like the perfect afternoon.

Last month, I had the pleasure of catching up with my school buddy and his brother over some incredible Indian food at Dishoom Shoreditch in London. It’s a lively branch of the popular Dishoom chain. If you’re unfamiliar with Dishoom, it’s a restaurant that brings the authentic flavours of Mumbai straight to the UK. With its bustling vibe and beautifully styled interiors, it’s no wonder this place has become a beloved spot for Londoners craving a taste of India. My friend and his brother were in town for just a short trip, so we knew we had to make our meetup count.

And what better way to do that than over great food and drinks at one of London’s best Indian restaurants?

Meeting my School Buddy at Dishoom in London-Indian food in Europe

We decided to meet up in the late afternoon, thinking we’d beat the rush. As we walked into Dishoom Shoreditch, the first thing that caught my eye was the gorgeous, spacious interior. The restaurant’s décor transported me back to the busy streets of Mumbai, with its vintage posters, old-school lamps, and rich wooden furniture. The details were incredible, and it really felt like being in a 1940s Bombay café. It’s a perfect blend of nostalgia and modernity. Not only is Dishoom known for its food, but its ambience is something to be savoured too.

After being warmly greeted by the staff, we were shown to our table with ease, and soon enough, the fun began. With a quick scan of the menu, we knew we were in for a treat. Dishoom’s menu is a love letter to Indian street food and classic Bombay-style dishes. Between the three of us, we decided to hit straight for the main course without starters as it was late afternoon, and we were all long past the lunch overdue. We ordered some chilled Indian beer Kingfisher along with DISHOOM FANCY HOUSE SALAD, their Signature Salad while we waited our order to come in.

Meeting my School Buddy at Dishoom in London-Indian food in Europe

The salad was a surprisingly good combination of fresh leaves, broken wheat, fruits, pickled beetroot and caramelised cashews. This merry mix is sweet-sharp with Goan coconut toddy vinegar dressing. Trial solicited.

There is something special about a cold pint of beer that just hits the spot, especially when you’re catching up with old friends :)))

Meeting my School Buddy at Dishoom in London-Indian food in Europe

For our main course, we dug into some of the best Indian dishes Dishroom has to offer. The Chicken Ruby, with its velvety, spiced tomato curry, was a particular favorite. My buddy’s brother raved about the Rara Gosht, a dish where Lamb shank and lamb mince are cooked and commingled with much stirring and much vigour. Rich spices bestow warmth to this robust and hearty dish. We also tried the House Black Daal, a dish I’d heard so much about, and I have to say, it lived up to the hype. Creamy, comforting, and with just the right amount of spice, it was easily one of the best daals I’ve ever had. A Dishoom signature dish – dark, rich, deeply flavoured. It is cooked over 24 hours for extra harmony. We ordered some freshly made Naan bread along to enjoy the mouthwatering dishes with.

Every bite of food at Dishoom felt like a journey back to India. It’s that authenticity that makes this place stand out from the rest.

Meeting my School Buddy at Dishoom in London-Indian food in Europe

The service was exceptional too. From placing orders to making sure everything was perfect, Dishoom’s team had a modern approach with their technological adaptation. The use of tablets for quick ordering was a cool touch and made the process seamless, yet the service still felt very personal and warm. It’s clear that Dishoom has successfully merged tradition with modernity, making the dining experience enjoyable in every aspect.

One thing that really struck me about the Dishoom Shoreditch branch was its size. The restaurant is huge, with the ability to host a large number of guests at once, and it’s still packed. There’s a lovely garden outside that offers a peaceful vibe, perfect for those who want to dine in a relaxed outdoor setting. We loved how spacious the venue was while still managing to feel cozy and inviting. Even as we ate, we noticed a steady stream of people pouring in—everyone from young professionals to families. Londoners from all walks of life were clearly drawn to the delicious food and welcoming atmosphere.

As we wrapped up our meal and walked out, we were stunned to see a line of more than 50 people patiently waiting to get in. It’s not surprising though—Dishoom is worth the wait! The excitement and buzz around this place are palpable. We felt so lucky to have had such a memorable afternoon here, filled with laughter, great food, and even better company.

Our visit to Dishoom Shoreditch was nothing short of fantastic. From the food to the service and the overall atmosphere, everything was on point. If you ever find yourself in London craving authentic Indian food with a touch of Mumbai, Dishoom is the place to be. Whether you’re catching up with old friends, like I did, or just looking to enjoy a great meal, you’ll leave with a smile—and probably dreaming about that daal!

Last month, my wife and I decided to take a spontaneous trip to Guernsey, one of those serene, quaint islands where time seems to slow down. After exploring the island’s breathtaking scenery, we felt a craving for some comforting Indian food. To our delight, we stumbled upon Dhaka, a fast-food concept restaurant in the heart of Guernsey. Dhaka, run by a Bangladeshi restaurateur, offers a perfect blend of Bangladeshi and Indian cuisine. Little did we know, this culinary find would be one of the highlights of our trip.

A Warm Welcome at Dhaka

As we approached the restaurant, Dhaka’s inviting entrance immediately drew us in. The moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a friendly smile by the owner himself. His warm hospitality set the tone for what turned out to be a memorable afternoon. From the moment we sat down, we felt like we were more than just customers—we were guests in his home. The service was impeccable, attentive yet unobtrusive, making us feel relaxed and ready to dive into the food.

Mouthwatering Snacks & Drinks

Our culinary journey began with a variety of snacks that instantly awakened our taste buds. We started with crispy samosas (In Bengali they call it Singara), bursting with a flavourful filling of spiced potatoes and peas, perfectly paired with tangy tamarind chutney.

The bar at Dhaka was a pleasant surprise as well. Offering a range of drinks that complemented the spicy and savoury dishes, we enjoyed some refreshing Indian beers. The bartender’s skills were impressive, and the drinks elevated the entire dining experience.

The Main Course: A Fusion of Flavours

As for the main course, Dhaka didn’t disappoint. The restaurant offers a mix of both classic Indian dishes and Bangladeshi specialties, so we were spoiled for choice. We ordered the chicken tikka masala, which came in a rich, creamy sauce with just the right level of spice. The tender chicken pieces were cooked to perfection. Alongside it, we had the traditional lamb biryani cooked Bengali style and a blend of spices that transported us right back to the bustling streets of Kolkata.

Touch of Indian Food in Guernsey-Indian food in Europe

My wife, who usually prefers milder flavours, couldn’t resist dipping her naan into the curry. We also had a side of garlic naan, which was soft, buttery, and the perfect accompaniment to soak up the delicious gravies.

A Beautiful Interior with Bangladeshi Charm.

What truly stood out at Dhaka was its ambiance. The restaurant is spread over two floors, and every inch of the interior is thoughtfully decorated with traditional Bangladeshi elements. From the intricately carved wooden panels to the vibrant textiles that adorn the walls, the space feels like a small cultural haven. The warm lighting and earthy tones gave it a cozy, intimate feel, perfect for a romantic evening.

Upstairs, there’s a more relaxed setting, ideal for larger groups or families. The attention to detail in the décor adds a layer of authenticity, making you feel like you’ve stepped into a part of Bangladesh in the middle of Guernsey. It’s rare to find a place that combines both great food and an immersive cultural experience, but Dhaka manages to do just that.

Sweet Endings with Complimentary Dessert.

Just when we thought our afternoon couldn’t get any better, the owner surprised us with a complimentary dessert tray. We were served rasmalai, a soft, spongy Indian dessert soaked in a sweet, saffron-flavoured milk syrup (My wife’s favourite), Mouthwatering Gulab Jamun (My favourite) and traditional Bengali sweet Rasgulla. It was the perfect sweet ending to our feast, and we savoured every bite. It’s little touches like this that truly set Dhaka apart from other restaurants.

A Memorable Experience at Dhaka

Our lunch at Dhaka was more than just a meal—it was an experience. The combination of excellent food, friendly service, and a beautifully crafted space made it a highlight of our trip to Guernsey. Whether you’re in the mood for a quick snack or a full Indian meal, Dhaka delivers on all fronts.

We left the restaurant with full stomachs and smiles on our faces, grateful for the wonderful afternoon and the chance to experience a touch of Indian and Bangladeshi culture in the heart of Guernsey. If you ever find yourself on this lovely island, Dhaka is a must-visit for anyone looking to enjoy mouthwatering Indian food in Guernsey with a side of warm hospitality.

Last week, I had the absolute pleasure of being invited to Gaja, a newly opened Indian restaurant in Bournemouth, and let me tell you—it was an experience that will linger in my memory for a long time. As someone who is passionate about Indian cuisine, I’m always on the lookout for authentic dining experiences, and this restaurant exceeded all my expectations.

The restaurant’s ambiance was both elegant and inviting, a perfect blend of traditional Indian décor with modern touches. Soft lighting and vibrant colours created a warm, intimate atmosphere, ideal for enjoying a leisurely meal with friends. We settled into our seats, eagerly anticipating the culinary adventure that lay ahead.

As we perused the menu, it was clear that the restaurant took great pride in offering a diverse array of authentic Indian dishes. The selection was extensive, featuring everything from classic North Indian curries to lesser-known regional specialties. We started our evening with a round of appetizers, and I must say, the snacks were nothing short of mouthwatering.

We were served a variety of starters, including crispy papadums sizzling Paneer tikka with a perfectly spiced flavours over it, succulent chicken tikka that was marinated to perfection, and an array of chutneys that complemented each bite. The flavours were bold, yet balanced, and each dish was prepared with an evident attention to detail. It was the kind of food that transports you straight to bustling India, where the aroma of spices fills the air, and every bite is a revelation.

The main course was an absolute feast. We were treated to a spread of rich, flavourful curries, each more delicious than the last. The chicken Tikka Masala was a standout, with tender pieces of chicken bathed in a creamy, tomato-based sauce that was both indulgent and comforting. The lamb rogan josh was another highlight, with its deep, complex flavors and melt-in-your-mouth texture. We also sampled some vegetarian dishes, including a delightful Bhindi Masala and paneer makhani that was rich and satisfying, and a perfectly flavoured dal makhani that was hearty and wholesome.

The naan bread was freshly baked, soft, and just the right amount of chewy—perfect for scooping up the delicious gravies. We also couldn’t resist trying the Masala fries, which was fragrant, Spicy, and bursting with the aromatic spices that are the hallmark of a great Masala fries.

As we enjoyed our meal, the owners made it a point to check on us, ensuring that everything was to our satisfaction. Their attentiveness was genuine, and it was clear that they took immense pride in their restaurant. They shared stories about their journey in opening the restaurant and their passion for bringing authentic Indian flavours to Bournemouth. It was heartwarming to see their dedication and love for what they do, and it truly enhanced our dining experience.

Now, let’s talk about the bar—because it deserves a special mention. The bar was a vibrant hub of activity, offering an impressive selection of Indian and International beers, wines, and spirits. Whether you’re in the mood for a classic cocktail or something more adventurous, the bartenders are ready to whip up something spectacular. I was particularly impressed by the range of Indian beers on offer, a perfect pairing for the rich and spicy food. The service at the bar was impeccable, with the staff being both knowledgeable and friendly, making it a delight to explore the extensive drink menu.

No Indian meal is complete without dessert, and the restaurant did not disappoint. We indulged in the traditional Indian sweet. The Gulab Jamun with the ice cream topping was a personal favourite—soft, syrupy, and oh-so-sweet. It wonderfully refreshing after the rich main course. This was the perfect ending to a meal that was already exceptional in every way.

As the evening came to a close, we found ourselves lingering at the table, reluctant to leave. For the main course, we opted for a selection of dishes that represented the diverse regional flavors of India. Stuart chose for him Lal Maans, A typical North Indian royal Lamb dish from the state of Rajasthan with its velvety spiced sauce, was a unanimous favorite. This was personally recommended by Chef Satya himself.

I have been always fascinated by the culinary expertise of Satya as a master chef, whose love and passion for cooking and food expresses so well in his dishes. He has been a guest on my Indian Food in Europe Podcast.

The Chicken Chettinad, Simple chicken gravy from South India’s popular chettinad cuisine and cooked to perfection, melted in Stuart’s mouth as he said, leaving behind a symphony of spices that danced on the taste buds.

A highlight of our dining experience for me as a vegetarian was the fragrant Dal Makhani. Dal Makhani is one of the most popular lentil recipes from North Indian Punjabi cuisine and is made with whole black lentils (urad dal or kali dal in Hindi) and kidney beans (rajma in Hindi). I also ordered for Bhindi Masala, One of my favourite .Bhindi masala is a delicious dish made of okra, onions, tomatoes & spices.

Vegetarian options were equally impressive. The Bhindi Masala, featuring stir-fried okra, offered a delightful contrast to the meat-centric dishes.

Since this happened to be a Sunday afternoon and me being a vegetarian since the start of this year , I ordered for my self the famous mouth watering Chole bhature menu they have on the weekends.

Last month brought us to this amazing food festival in Eastleigh in south of England. The event was created by some enterprising minds from India and Pakistan and friendly joint venture .The vision of the event was to bring friendship &Unity through flavours..

Indo-Pak Food Festival in Eastleigh ,UK-Indian food in Europe

After our drive of over 50 kms from Bournemouth to attend this event ,we were amazed to see that the parking lot for the event was jam packed .There was a huge line of hungry fans who were waiting to attend the event .We parked the car away from the venue at the first available parking and walked down back to the event venue .

There was chatting and new introductions while the wait took place in the long queue. To our luck the wait was no over than 30 minutes and were able to enter the closed event premises.

The atmosphere was just enchanting and thrilling full of people from all the communities .There were food stalls all over the place with food from different states and parts of India and Pakistan.

For me to attack on with my Indian food hunger was the obvious Golgappa ,which were freshly made with some love and care by some great women at ARM Chaat Corner. Next to try on the agenda came up for me was Bhelpuri which was just so well prepared.

For me as a vegetarian from this year ,the next thing to try was a north Indian Patter of Paneer ,Chole and Rice with Naan. This was thoroughly enjoyed by my wife too.

The food was so mouth watering and alluring that I had go on a cheat day with my Low Carb diet.

The next on the list turned out to be a Bengali sweet Payeesh which I just could not resist to how much I would have wanted to .

Indo-Pak Food Festival in Eastleigh ,UK-Indian food in Europe

The atmosphere was enjoyable ,friendly with lots of different languages being heard around .This so reminded me back of any Street market in Delhi.

The small wait and series of communications and new introductions saw me landing on the Kerela stall with its alluring Idlis sambhar with coconut chutny and sweet Unniapum.

This was mind boggling so good that I thoroughly enjoyed the Sambhar which was so well tenderly cooked .

My wife was absolutely enjoying every thing but was on look out for a great non vegetarian dish .This she found finally at the Karachi Haleem which was amazingly cooked so well and served.

All was yummy and satisfying while all this was going around but I felt my Punjabi roots in me missed some thing .I started to look out for the Punjabi food which I finally found right at the end of the hall with some amazing Dal Makhani with rice at Jolly’s Punjabi Dhaba by Rajan and Meenakshi.

There was an ongoing music played in the adjacent hall by the famous singer Ravi Kumar. The atmosphere was over all so jovial and content full of happiness and laughter.

There was Honourable Mayor of Eastleigh with his wife who was seen taking photographs with the organizers of the event and enjoying with the mood.

Since its a period of Holi Navaratri for me.Its the time of the year when we do not eat any meat for a period of about 10 days. The place we chose to go to for vegeterian lunch was the famous Saravana Bhavan.

The place as we entered looked jam packed although it was just the early sunday afternoon. We were immediately offered a table for 2 with a welcome smile.

As we entered …..

it gave me the feel that i have entered any Indian Restaurant in Delhi .The enchanting voices around and that hustling sound of any Indian Metro City. The resemblance made my mood go emotional.

My daughter was excited and ordered for her favourite Traditional Indian Mango Lassi .For me to my immense happiness i ordered for a big glass of Cobra Beer .( Kingfisher they did not have available although was on the menu)

For our Lunch ,I chose their famous Channa Bhatura menu ,the inspiration for which i received from the gentleman eating on next to us table.

My Daughter ordered for herself a Rava Masala Dosa (Cream of wheat & rice crepe stuffed with spicy potatoes & onion)

Southall -Indian Food Haven In London-Indian food in Europe

We both enjoyed the food immensely chatting and admiring the atmosphere around. My daughter happened to meet a friend of hers incidentally also enjoying some great Indian food..

Since we had with us a lot of freshly cooked hot Jalebi which we had bought from an adjacent restaurant before entering here, we decided to go without any more sweets.

The time we spent at the restaurant was absolutely thrilling and made our cravings for some authentic Indian food fulfilled.

As we departed from the restaurant ,we agreed to come here back again . And next time with more time and different varieties of dishes on their menu.

Southall -Indian Food Haven remains the place for great Indian Food to go in London…..

Indian Street food in Birmingham-Indian food in Europe

My recent visit to Birmingham was thrilling due to two reasons. I loved the Indian food over there and I met with my school time classmate .

Indian Street food in Birmingham-Indian food in Europe

We enjoyed the mouthwatering Indian Street food at the heart of the city on bullring ,on this busy crowded weekend in Birmingham.

The name of the restaurant was The Indian Streatery Express.

The Indian Streatery Express provides delicious, authentic and fresh street food in a more convenient format for busy city workers and shoppers alike. Located in the city’s iconic Bullring shopping Centre, The Indian Streatery Express brings colour, vibrancy and artwork in a casual, relaxed environment providing both indoor and outdoor seating.

We were meeting here with my school time class mate who lives in Birmingham. While we waited for her to join in with her husband, we enjoyed taste of multiple dishes from the place.

We chose to sit outside as the weather was warm and the streets were enchanting with liveliness of the crowd .The seating arrangement and the furniture in the terrace was informal and casual. This gave that feeling of relaxation and peace.

Indian Street food in Birmingham-Indian food in Europe

We tried their Panipuri, and Home style chicken curry (Multiple times as was mind-blowingly yummy) .This was accompanied with thick and rich Mango Lassi.

Unfortunately the Chilly Paneer wrap this day was not available so we missed on this .

The party continued with some Chicken chaat and beers and Mango lassi as we meet with my classmate and her husband.

The Indian street food experience here was awesome with the restaurant fully jampacked with International Indian food lovers.

Once again the visit to this place in Birmingham brought together my wonder on how the Indian food is loved by people from all around the world.

The memories here of enjoying the tastiest Indian street food in Birmingham and meeting with school time pal reminiscing school days will remain evergreen with me.

Enjoy your meals !!!

Last week brought us to Cardiff in Wales. It was long drive of over 250 miles. and we enjoyed the night stay en route in Newport ,another beautiful city of Wales.

Indian Food In Cardiff- Wales-Indian Food In Europe

Both the cities just stole away my heart. We landed up in Cardiff around 11am and were ready to visit the famous Cardiff Castle. The castle trip ended up with huge satisfaction and engagement for me and my wife both.

The atmosphere was lively ,bright sunny day with people around with full energies after the long lockdowns every where .

By the end of the day after scrubbing through the full history of the castle since its beginning, we including my little Yorkshire were hungry, tired and exhausted..

This meant for me to look out for some good Indian food in the town.

On the quick search we found 3 Indian Restaurants right on the high street outside of the Castle within a proximity of 500 meters.

On further scanning the Indian Restaurant Chai Street won the race. It sold typical Indian fusion street food and just took my heart at the first instance.

Indian Food In Cardiff- Wales-Indian Food In Europe

The Restaurant was spacious with having outside terrace and sitting arrangement in place. The staff including our waitress, Liza, a welsh lady were so welcoming.

Our Dog was given cold water to drink as we ordered for our Mango Lassi.

Indian Food In Cardiff- Wales-Indian Food In Europe

The interior of the restaurant was so exciting and interesting .There were signboards and painted wall in Hindi with old Bollywood actors .The music running inside the restaurant was so lively that it immediately brought down all our tiredness and exhaustion.

While we sipped and enjoyed the cold Mango Lassi served …..

I was already getting ready for my appetizing Indian food experience in Cardiff. I ordered for their Vegan Thali as I happen to be vegetarian last 2 months now (New Resolution for me).The Thali included a combination of vegetarian curry dish, some spiced potatoes, multi legume Dal, vegetable salad, Poppadum, Pickle and Basmati Rice.

My wife ordered for herself their signature dish Railway Lamb Curry with some hot Naan. This is the same very dish as were told that were first served to aristocrats in first class cabins on the iconic Indian mail. Slow cooked lamb with potatoes, whole spices, onion ,garlic and tomatoes.

Indian Food In Cardiff- Wales-Indian Food In Europe

The food came in absolutely on time ,hot and well prepared. Liza told us some exciting facts of the town and the tourist season that was about to take off soon after the long lockdowns in the town.

As we enjoyed the mouth watering Indian food in Cardiff, I could see my dog, Sandy, already lying sleeping luxuriously.

The time spent at the restaurant was just marvelous with the excellent service and food.

Indian Food In Cardiff- Wales-Indian Food In Europe

This would definitely be a choice to come back to in Cardiff on next visit.

Cheers and love to you all from Wales !!!!

I have always been a huge fan for the South Indian food.

The spicy Dosa, Idli ,The mouthwatering Uthappams combined with some spicy Sambar, coconut chutney. All these remind me of my childhood days when my mom cooked at home for us .Although coming from north India my mom was as good as a south Indian in mastering these.

My cravings for some crispy and spicy Dosa today afternoon brought us to the Dosaworld .Its a Sri Lankan and South Indian restaurant in the downtown of Bournemouth ,at Christchurch Road.

The Restaurant is right close to the head of the Christchurch Road from Lansdowne crossing…..

The parking around the restaurant could be a problem immediately. But there is a public car parking right just adjacent to the Christchurch road. (comparatively cheaper).

The restaurant is big with a capacity of around 50 people to fit in easily. The atmosphere is peaceful and clean.

I ordered for a Mysore Masala Dosa (Spread with spicy sauce and potato masala) and my wife chose for Plain Dosa. Both of them came along with some mind-blowing mouthwatering spicy authentic Sambar, mint and coconut chutneys.

I additionally ordered for a Chili Coriander Uthappam (Topped with green chili and coriander). This came in so perfect with the expectations I had for a true uthappam.

I had a coke to drink with my wife opting out of any additional drinks apart from the tap water served.

As we enjoyed the mind-blowing experience ,this reminded me absolutely of sitting in any South Indian Restaurant in India.

The quality of the food was excellent and the food a true authentic South Indian.

The place was evenly filled in by few Indians with children and hop in regular English customers as I understood.

People enjoyed the great food and the service was great. The place has proven catering to the best so far South Indian Food in Bournemouth.

They had some pure Desi Ghee authentic Indian sweets in house .My wife decided to give a go at them. The sweets could not get any better for us.

My cravings for the Spicy South Indian food still goes on. Some Sambar Vada, Idli to be enjoyed in my next trips here.

One thing after today’s meal here is for sure .This Srilankan owned South Indian Restaurant is going to be my favorite place for the South Indian Food in Bournemouth.

Enjoy your spicy meals !!!!!

I enjoyed finally my first Indian food eating out after the long lockdown in UK. The place chosen was Indi’s ,a small compact Indian restaurant in Westbourne area of Bournemouth, Dorset.

It was a Sunday evening ,quiet atmosphere, a feeling of relaxation and peace at the restaurant.

I was meeting with a friend with his family. My wife was excited equally to be able to enjoy her long awaited Mango Lassi out in a restaurant.

We were greeted with huge enthusiasm by the Restaurant staff as we entered the restaurant. We were offered a table for 5 as requested. We were guided by the waiter on the menu they had in house .While we discussed the menu Yassar, my friend with his family had already joined in.

(Video)Indian Food After Lockdown In UK-Indian Food in Europe

It was a great meeting with friends after the long lockdown. His daughter has grown over the period by another 8 months 🙂

I made some temporary amendments to my drinking habits in happiness and honour of the reopening of the Restaurants after the lockdown for the people.

One of them was to order for some cold Indian beer Cobra the restaurant had “on tap”. I decided to consume some alcohol for a change for me. The second, of me becoming a fully vegetarian from this month onwards. (Have not decided as yet for how long will this be ) .So I ordered for myself Dal Tadka with some hot Naan.

My first obvious choice was Paneer Tandoori and some Dahi Puri which were both not available on the evening with them .This perhaps could be one of the reasons why this restaurant will not go onto my favourite places for vegetarian Indian food.

My friend ordered for their signature dish of Kerala Balti which the staff offered with recommendation.

This he accompanied it with some Basmati rice. His wife, an enterprising business lady , ordered for some Royal Lamb.(Royal cumin, garlic & black pepper marinated lamb chops and cooked in the charcoal oven served with a salad) This I am sure she enjoyed uttermost as the starter dish with her Turkish descent.

My wife for a change chose to go in for indis’ Vegetable Curry which they have on the menu as a vegetarian signature dish.

For starters we ordered for some vegetable samosas for the little baby girl on the table with us with some trial of Mango lassi for her.

We enjoyed some Papadam and Pickles.

The food after lockdown was good by most of the parameters. There were a few tables occupied .The atmosphere was good and of joy .I loved the energy as we enjoyed the food and drinks as we chatted ,talked and laughed.

The table next to us had a birthday cake cut celebration which added more to the joyous atmosphere.

The service at the restaurant was satisfactory. I would give it a credit to improve upon its customer satisfaction and professionalism. Food after lockdown could become more in variety for vegetarians in my view.

For the ladies the evening ended with drinking some Indian Tea .
Indian Food After Lock Down In UK-Indian food in Europe

The experience of Indian food after lockdown was pleasant one. I will be keeping this restaurant for a revisit on my list after a couple of months to recheck on the menu for vegetarian food availability (Especially the Paneer Tandoori and Dahi Puri) which they have on menu.

With a few of the nuances on the professionalism of the service and availability of authentic Indian vegetarian dishes ,I would definitely look for a better experiences here in the future my visits to the place.

The evening went full of joy and happiness which ended up with a promised prosperous Turkish home made food from my friend’s entrepreneur wife for our next gathering 🙂

Enjoy your meals!

Stay safe and love to you all !!!

My Dorset Birthday Dinner

I celebrated my birthday this week with my wife at lovely cozy Indian Restaurant Westbourne Tandoori.

My Dorset Birthday Dinner -Indianfood in Europe

Although my dental issues of which i have been suffering for last few weeks would not allow me much to eat anything. But my love for the Indian food as usual pushed me to go out with out some exciting Indian Restaurant in Dorset. To enjoy my Dorset Birthday Dinner.

Westbourne Tandoori is a compact Indian restaurant in the Westbourne district of Bournemouth, Dorset. We had the table booked here in advance to avoid any frustrations on the last working day for the Restaurant before the month long lock down in whole of UK.

On our arrival to the restaurant around 6pm,the place was looking not so full as i presume it was just getting heated up for the loyal Indian food fans to flock in.

We were told by the staff that the restaurant was bottleneck booked as from the following day the lock down started and all restaurants were doing only deliveries and take away during lock down.

The atmosphere of the place looked pretty soothing with some Hindi songs playing. The atmoshere was enchanting with few tables occupied by guests.

We were recommended by the manager of their signature welcome Papadum with a platter of chutney. We ordered for a plate of it.

My Dorset Birthday Dinner -Indian food in Europe

It came in an attractive way and was beautifully served to us.

We ordered for Traditional Indian beer Kingfisher to go along with the spicy papadum and the starters . I did not go in this time for my traditional non alcoholic beer in honour of my birthday:)))

For the starters we ordered for Seekh Kebab (Minced Lamb blended with garam masala and herbs then grilled in the tandoor) went so well with the chilled Kingfisher ….

My Dorset Birthday Dinner -Indian food in Europe

For the main dishes my wife chose to eat Meat Thali, a signature dish of the restaurant which they happened to be proud of.

I chose for some spicy Lamb Madras (One of my favourites) along with Keema Naan and Saag paneer as the side vegetarian dish.

The food came in perfectly on time and was served with unique perfection and style.

While we enjoyed the delicious food ,i could see the restaurant already full of people by this time. There were people waiting outside for the places to get vacated so they could have their grab on the Indian food experience at the restaurant before the lockdown.

We enjoyed the mouthwatering food and the atmosphere of the place. It was enchanting with a people chatting and enjoying .There was an air of love ,happiness and harmony in the Restaurant.

There were tables booked around with families ,corporate gatherings and private celebrations like ours.

My Dorset Birthday Dinner -Indian food in Europe

The staff and the service was excellent and unique .The one some what specific and meticulous. The service was delivered with all the minutes of the guest needs taken care of.

Since i have been under dental treatment for last few weeks now ,for me the eating of the yummy mouthwatering dishes was longer than normal i would do. I could see my wife fully enjoying every bit of the dishes.

For the dessert my wife ordered for some Matka Kulfi. Its the traditional Indian ice-cream served cold in a ceramic pot.

This was topped by nuts and raisins and she seemed to enjoy every bit of it.

After my shifting to UK recently this has been the first Indian Restaurant experience .The Westbourne Tandoori with its fantastic mind-blowing tasty food and meticulous service made my birthday dinner a memory for us .

I had my Dorset Birthday Dinner …..

Masala Tea experience at Pind-Indian food in Prague

The year so far as you all know, has been one of uncertainity and turmoil.

Its now time for me to do my partial transition to UK and join my family there. Before leaving ,i had few friends of mine who are on bucket list to be met .Whom i am trying to meet as and when so can could touch bases with.

So ,last week I got to meet my old friend and a fantastic entrepreneur , Amit ,who happened to be busy with his new venture. So the meeting was quick one at the Pind ,where we decided to enjoy some traditional Indian Masala Tea along with some freshly fried vegetable pakodas.

Pind has been always a favourite place for the Indian food in prague in the Vinohrady area with its great north Indian cuisine.

Masala Tea experience at Pind-Indian food in Prague

The restaurant has sufficient seating space with enough of the privacy mode in to it.You could be totally at ease in this restaurant ,enjoy that private conversation and still be surrounded with people around.

Masala Tea experience at Pind-Indian food in Prague

We had some hot masala tea which was served in a typical traditional way, right in tea glasses (as served in North India). This was a true tea experience at Pind. The pakodas were served hot with various vegetables duly fried well and soft in the besan (Gram flour).

The service was good .We could discuss in peace all the things long awaited. I was so happy seeing an old pal and memories refreshed of good relationships before I leave for the UK coming week.

The tea experience at Pind, I am sure shall keep alive in my mind till my return to Prague soon in coming months:)

Lock down is over-Indianfoodinprague

The past months of the Lock down in Prague have been awful for me .Being living alone without family and Indian food around.

The life stresses have been huge with the setting up of my new venture of Indian food in Prague Catering Service. Now once its set rolling to move forward, I could finally have a look at my favourite Indian Jewel Restaurant in Prague 1:)

Lock down is over-Indian food in Prague

The choice was as always my favourite Chicken Tikka Masala menu during Lunch.I was so excited to see my favourite faces from the place. The food was duly served in the open summer terrace they have now wide open.My favourite Non alcoholic beer was served as always 🙂

Lock down is over-Indianfoodinprague

The summer terrace definitely shows the impact of the COVID-19 on the Restaurant industry in Prague. The beautiful place like Indian Jewel with all its mouth watering food and friendly service in place looked hungry for vistiors. Few tables were occupied with the Czech language laughters heard around. The laughters around gave the confidence that the good days for the Indian food in Prague are back soon…..

Lock down is over-Indianfoodinprague

I had my full satisfaction from the cravings for the authentic Chicken Tikka Masala finally (outside of my Catering Service of course) .I am so excited that finally the worse days are behind us and I look forward so much that The Indian food in Prague remains always a super attraction in Prague center at Indian Jewel.

Lock down is over-Indianfoodinprague

As i finished the thick and creamy dish with some hot Naan, the memories of the the same place came in to me when i saw it fully crowded with tourists and locals the same time….

The menu included some sweet Kheer which i enjoyed fully. I had some great conversation with the Restaurant head manager ,Mr Deepu .while enjoying some Masala Chai . I could see there enthusiasm and urge in him for the better days ahead for the Indian food lovers to come here.

The experience was so overwhelming and enjoyable for me after all these days of Lockdown. I look forward to more quality experiences as we move forward all together….

Enjoy your meals and stay safe every body!!!!

Love to you all!

Had an amazing experience of Indian food in UK yesterday at a small town of Poole. Poole is a coastal town in Dorset, southern England, known for its large natural harbour and sandy beaches. The town along with Bournemouth are resort  towns. They are so beautifully situated at the English Channel and famous for its 7 miles of golden sandy beaches and clean seas. It attracts over five million visitors every year to its safe sandy beaches

Poole has a   number of Indian restaurants to offer and my lust for the authentic Indian food brought me with my wife to   gurkhaspice.

Indian food in UK-Poole experience

It is a family run restaurant by Mr Krishna from Nepal along with his wife. Both of them are a pleasant  to meet and a such an hospitable  couple.Their hospitality has given to the place an atmosphere of warmth and coziness.

After a pleasant exchange of  ideas and  communication ,we were offered a comfortable place for us to feel at home.

Indian food in UK-Poole experience

The menu offered, contained an amazing range of Indian food on board. We chose to take some Seekh kebab and my wife ordered for a plate of Lamb momos .Momos is some thing that Nepalese cuisine is famous for.

Indian food in UK-Poole experience

While we waited for the exquisite yummy tongue twisters to come in, I ordered for a glass of Salted Lassi .My wife chose for  a glass of Indian Beer Cobra (Yet to be seen by me in Prague).

The momos came in tenderly cooked  with some spicy hot sauce just what was needed. The Seekh kebab were served so well along with some unique styled vegetable salad. The kebabs just melted in my mouth along with the Lassi I  enjoyed.

While enjoying the starters ,we ordered for the main course for Lamb Jalfrezi (very hot),Some chicken tikka masala no spiced as a side   dish for my wife’s non Indian taste buds to take care of 🙂

She  chose some cheese and garlic naan which was so proudly served hot to us.I chose for some fresh hot fluffy Basmati rice.

Now ,UK  I know is famous for one of the best Indian Restaurants globally. This restaurant with its owners efforts has tried to maintain that trend in my view.

The restaurant from inside has been so well traditionally decorated .The tables so accurately placed and separated by  hand crafted glass partitions. The seating arrangement gave a feel of you being compact and cozy and at the same time private from the others.

As we enjoyed the mouthwatering food ,the restaurant was getting filled up by pre-order guests. The Restaurant phone constantly seemed taking in orders for takeaways i guess as the bar attendant gently speaking and facilitating the orders.

What amazed me so much was the serving of the food orders to the table on a trolley. This I am yet to see (or have not hit the place doing this)in Prague .

Indian food in UK-Poole experience

While we enjoyed our well spent of over 2 hours of stay in the restaurant ,the place was overwhelming already with guests. English people immensely enjoying every bit of the Indian food from heart. Most of the crowd seemed to me local residents of Poole or surroundings. There seemed to be few guests who were regular visitors.

The entire experience was so filling for both of us that we chose to by pass the dessert. Although menu seemed so attractive and different to me from Prague standards that i chose to take a snippet picture of it.

Indian food in UK-Poole experience

Its had some of the Indian kulfi on it to my deep surprise.

As we left the place ,we could hear the happy and content voices from the guests and the families enjoying their weekend.

As always ,The Indian food continues to make the people happy all around the world.

I bring back to Prague with me  some great memories of Indian food in UK from Poole:)))

Enjoy your meals and love to you all !!!

Indian Jewel-Best Roghan Josh in Town

Rogan josh, also written Rogan josh or Rogan Ghosht, is an aromatic curried meat dish of Persian or Kashmiri origin. It is made with red meat, traditionally lamb or goat. Is colored and flavored primarily by alkanet flower or root and Kashmiri chilies. Is one of the signature recipes of Kashmiri cuisine.

As a child we were treated with Kashmiri dishes at home ,when my mother used to cook them with so much love and affection. The deep memories of these dishes with Rogan Josh are deep within me since those early days…

Every time I get to a place where Kashmiri dishes are available on board, Rogan Josh is always the first conscious choice:)

This week I had the yummiest of this dish along with some hot crispy butter Naan .Now rice goes as an integral part of the Kashmiri Cuisine in the Indian food. So I ordered for some plain basmati rice which was served so tempting hot!!!

Best Roghan Josh In Town-Indian Jewel

My love for the dish is so immense ,that I had to keep aside the tasty Masala tea I was enjoying as the mouthwatering Rogan Josh came on to the table:)))

The lamb meat in the dish was so tenderly soft and mind boggling tasty……

It just melted within my mouth. I could boldly claim that i am yet to taste such a Rogan Josh in Prague. The best Rogan Josh in town…

While enjoying the yummy treat ,reminiscing the old love for the dish, I was greeted my Mr Wadehra.

He is the proud founder of the Indian Jewel Restaurant in Prague, a good friend  and enterprising entrepreneur.

His love and passion for the good  Indian food has kept his restaurant in the top rankings of the Prague Restaurants.

We had some heartfelt talk with him while I enjoyed the food.

Best Roghan Josh in Town-Indian Jewel

The place was semi filled with guests mostly Indians, Arabs and English. The atmosphere has always been enchanting for me here. The service of the staff is excellent. The Restaurant staff is extremely polite and service oriented.

As I finished the yummy treat without any Sweets – New year resolutions to go with out sugar for a year(How much I would not have wanted it though),only a word of thank you comes to my mouth.

A big shout out and thank you Mr Wadehra  for being a great entrepreneur you are and creating the wonderful place like Indian jewel for Prague food lovers!!!

A Fulfilling Sunday Lunch with  Dr Abdi, an old friend from Kuwait has been on my bucket list for some time .He is a successful entrepreneur, renowned dentist and a wonderful person. He is the proud co-founder of the Dental clinics in Prague at www.dbclinic.cz.

Due to his hectic schedule and scarce availability it was getting delayed all these days for us to meet up.

We finally got to meet with him today for lunch and we decided to meet at Namaste India Restaurant, Rybna Branch.

A Fulfilling Sunday Lunch At Namaste India-Rybna -Indian food in Prague

Now, This branch of Namaste India has been one of my favourite place to lunch in on any average buffet day (week day).On a weekend it was first time I would be trying it.

The place, as huge it is ( see my previous post on it here),today looked so clean with lightening Christmas tree right at the entrance of the restaurant  greeting us. Few tables were occupied with guests(families in general with children ).The over all atmosphere of the place seemed calm and quiet  (love it!!!)

Dr Abdi ordered for some Indian Masala tea to start with which was served in a fabulous ceramic servers .

Bombay Express Chodov-Indian Food In Europe

Bombay express fast food at chodov as all its other branches has always fascinated me for its fast food type atmosphere.

It gives the feel that you have landed up in a typical Indian fast food joint serving the Indian food.

Last week, I happened to meet an old friend, Amit, whom I have not seen for years now.

He happens to be a qualified professional accountant and  co-founder with his wife of an Indian fashion garments e-shop at saath .

Since it was lunch time,we stood in line with all the  executives of the corporate world that abodes in the Chodov business towers around. This place happens to be  a favorite for many of them.

Since the service here is fast ,accurate and good, the people get their food as at any fast modern  fast food chain (similar to McDonald,Subway etc).

Both of us chose to try their legendary  chicken do pyaza menu which the sales guy so proudly recommended us .

Bombay express Chodov-Indian food in Prague
Bombay express Chodov-Indian food in Prague

For drinks we took the Salted lassi .As we placed our order and were handed over with  calling hand booth some thing like a  remote phone set (walkie talkie sort of) .You sit with this in hand and chat while  your order gets ready. It rings out once your order is ready .You can go and collect your order from the counter. This is some thing unique and innovative what I have seen only with Bombay express  so far.

This is such a brilliant innovative idea which keeps you not hovering at the counter waiting for your food to get ready. And makes the whole eating experience a whole lot more pleasant without loosing that fast food effect.

We had some  good bite and chat  long due of years. The place is really jam packed during the lunch hours but the experience remains a pleasant one.

The Staff is good and helpful.

Last week was the end of the yearly Navaratri Hindu Festival. And with its end comes the time to enjoy the fabulous feast and mouthwatering Ashtami Thali.

Ashtami in Sanskrit means the eight day.The eighth day of Navratri is dedicated to Goddess Mahagauri . Many people observe ritualistic vrat (fasting) as a mark of respect to the deity. Some people also do Kanya Puja or Kanjak on the auspicious day. For Bengalis, Durga Ashtami is the most pivotal day of the whole festival.

This is the day celebrated as the day of the victory of the good over evil as per the Hindu Traditions.

With this comes an opportunity for some great food and festivities and celebrations….

Since this has been a child hood affair for me ,I decided to try the so advertised Ashtami Thali from Indian Aroma Restaurant in Prague 8.They had this as special menu for the weekend.

Ashtami Thali-Indian food in Prague
Thali-Indian food in Prague

I decided to enjoy the Ashtami Vegetarian Thali all by myself this time. The restaurant looked quiet from inside. There were few tables booked by guests. The atmosphere inside was calm with the serving staff serving the guests well in order.

I was greeted by the restaurant manager  whom I know already from my previous visits here.

The Ashtami Thali Indian Aroma was brought in with love, respect and care to me.It consisted of the fluffy Poori. They were hot and tasted   authentic Indian. The menu included some black chole (chick peas),aloo taamatar sabzi,Raita, Sabu dana cutlets. This all was accompanied by some so fresh looking and tasty Halwa ,which surely was cooked in some Desi Ghee as it tasted.

The Thali looked so tempting  and mouthwatering. I enjoyed every bit of it and for the drinks chose to go in simple with some coke.

After the filling experience I paid the bill at the counter as it usually works here with menu offerings. At the counter was greeted by Mrs Walia ,wife of the owner of the Restaurant Mr Vikas Walia. She  shared their experiences and positives of the their  Restaurant and how her husband is active in bringing up the Indian community in the Czech Republic.

He is one of the founding members of the Indian Community in the Czech Republic who organised recently Experience India festival  in Prague 5,Andel.

The experience was extremely enchanting .The reminiscence of the Ashtami this year will definitely be in my mind  till the next year:)

To the glory of the Festival…..

Enjoy your meals!!!

During the week, I found myself landed in Prague 7 area right after some business meeting. The time was odd right after the lunch hours around 4  afternoon .I see right across the road the Indian and Bangladeshi Restaurant Curry Palace. I decide to have a quick grab before reaching out for an important customer call for my new digital marketing venture at victoriadigitals.

To my surprise although late afternoon, I was readily offered a heartfelt lunch menu by the staff .The place after the lunch hours was though quiet .It had that soothing music playing around with some sound Bollywood music at the back.

I was recommended to  try their specialty of Karahi Chicken  Curry Palace which was so proudly served .

Indian Food In Prague-Curry Palace

For those of you who do not know Karahi Chicken…….

It is  Chicken karahi at Curry Palace, also known as gosht Kadai, and Kadai chicken, is a dish from the Indian subcontinent noted for its spicy taste; it is notable in  North Indian cuisine and Pakistan. The Pakistani version does not have capsicum or onions whereas the North Indian version uses capsicum. The dish is prepared in a karahi.

I chose for some Dal Tadka along with it  which was duly served with so much love and hospitality by the serving  staff.

The dishes were so tenderly served along with hot garlic Naan and fresh Basmati Rice. This came in with   my favorite vegetable salad with fresh green chilies.

The serving staff brought in their specialty of the kitchen ,some fresh Mint sauce along with fresh Yogurt. This was just mind boggling :))))

With the above all being served on a hot plate right in front of me ,i could not resist ordering for my favorite Non alcoholic beer …..

An Exciting Karahi Chicken Experience at Curry Palace in Prague 7-Indian food In Europe

The atmosphere of the place happened to be so enchanting, with the light music playing at the background and few guests at the place. Is I  enjoyed the mouth melting Chicken Karahi and the Dal Tadka, was greeted by the owner of the place. Mr Azer Babu who happens to be a vivid restaurateur ,a friend  and a great entrepreneur.

The exciting tasty experience of the yummy dishes was followed by some pineapple walnut ice cream .This was recommended  as  their in house specialty.

The whole experience was unexceptionally motivating .I was having such a big thrust after the lovely lunch. I was sure to bang upon my sales call ahead for my digital marketing services.

Great place to try some good Indian food in Prague if you do not look for the generic lunch buffet as most places…..

Enjoy your meals !!!

Today was a  hot day and i had on my bucket list  for some time now to meet with a friend of mine, an elderly gentleman, a retired Banker by profession. We agreed to meet up at Restaurant Mala India in Prague 1 .

The Gentleman earns a huge respect from me for all the well built life he has lead  and is full of life experiences   in his age that always intrigue me of its great value.

We chose to meet up today for lunch at the Indian Restaurant Mala India because of its geographical situation right in the heart of Prague 1 .

Mala India-Indian Restaurent in Prague

Had I known my experience of the lunch today  would come out such a  nightmare ,I definitely would have chosen another venue nearby of any other Indian Restaurant (Plenty of them)

The restaurant being situated right in Krakovska Street, just away from the Down town had ideally should have been crowded during the lunch time which to my surprise looked haunted.

Mala India-Indian Restaurent in Prague

I over looked it as a heat related  phenomenon and we ordered for 2 lunch menus which they had from the total choice of 3 on board. The Respected Gentleman with me Mr. Khanna ordered Channa chicken menu with Hot Naan and me ordering for Chicken Tikka Masala along with Basmati Rice. As an appetizer we ordered for  Red lentil soup what they had on board .To drink we ordered for some chilled beer for my senior friend and a Birell for me.

The Bar at the restaurant looked so disorganized with the staff seemingly looking uninterested and non energetic and without any enthusiasm. The whole place looked so gloomy with the interiors of the so called Indian Restaurant which actually were far from any Indian food venue.

As the lunch plates were served , I saw the quality and the quantity of the vegetable salad on the menu seemingly miserable ,therefore requested for some extra Onion Salad  with fresh green chilies lemonated (A usual Indian salad and my favourite) to which was abruptly rudely replied that we would pay extra for it (Not a very Indian Hospitality and could be gently charged as extra top of the bill at the end  without any ultimatums)

After a decent wait the extra salad did come along  with green chilies following slowly.

Now as we start to taste the not so alluring lunch menu in front of us ,I see a huge beer cylinder falling right in to the restaurant from the staircase with a noise as strong as of a bomb dropped on the place.

To our surprise ,it was the beer supplier delivering the beer to the restaurant while the few guests having lunch inside.

Since our conversation was more juicy for us ,we over looked the negatives of the place and carried on with it.

Mala India -Indian Restaurant in Prague

The food quality was horrible ,service absolutely at zero level with the serving staff absolutely with out any enthusiasm.

We ordered for some Masala Tea after the lunch which came in semi hot and not the one I am used to in any typical Indian Restaurant.

Its really disgusting to see that such type of restaurants like Restaurant Mala India Prague 1 are popping up in the town who claim themselves as the Indian Restaurants but are no where close to any authentic Indian Restaurant with their  horrible food quality , customer service and gloomy interiors.

We finished our lunch and as we  left we found  to our surprise coriander in the saunf served at the bar. Now this was  the peak of the nightmare experience for me.

We just left the place quietly  but I would not want to see these type of so called Indian Restaurants in future for me in Prague.

They just give a bad name to the true  authentic Indian food with its rich hospitality and who just want to earn a quick buck out of it with out the true value created what so ever.

I would definitely want to hear from others on my email or comments here if some body else had a similar experience from this place.

Enjoy the quality Indian  meals !!!

The day is Wednesday ,summer time, spirits are high, mood jovial and a good friend to meet ,so guess what did I do? I chose to meet with the friend in  Namaste India Indian Restaurant  newly opened branch in Prague 1 at Rybna street.

Namaste India-Indian Restaurent Prague

The friend this time happened to be a Czech ,a geek by profession ,Pavel, who happened to be new to the taste of Indian food as a whole.

Czech-Friend-Indian food-Prague

So we meet with him at Namaste India Indian Restaurant  for the lunch and since i reached the place little early than him ,i was lucky to get introduced to the lovely lady managing and running the show for  all the 3 branches there for the Namaste India in Prague.

Thank you Krystyna 🙂

I visit Prague Indian food  buffets now for quite some time but any thing of this grand  level was yet to be seen. It was so huge and mind boggling and the food seemingly tasty that i had to make a full video of the buffet table so to make the things easier for me….

The menu included of some mouthwatering Lamb Curry, Spicy  Chicken Tamil,Chicken Masala,Chicken wings, tenderly cooked Cabbage (love it !!!),Dal Mahkhani and much more…

The menu included as well 4 sorts of different chutney ,Fresh vegetable Salad, and some chilling exotic juices for an extra charge.

Fresh Naans and 2 sorts of Basmati rice were of course an integral part of the meal.

I could see Pavel  enjoying the meal along with me, who ordered for a freshly made salted Lassi for him and me a dose of my usual non alcoholic beer and some fresh Guava Juice.

Namaste India-Prague-Indian Restaurent

We had some real good chat in between us  during the course of over 2 hours  with time just flying while we discussed the latest in the tech industry happening in the  world. The sweet  kheer followed the filling lunch we had.

Namaste India-Prague-Indian Restaurent

The restaurant to my quick assessment has a  capacity of over 200 people at any time of the day. The serving staff strength is massive with the head waitress of the place such a pleasant care taker of the guests(A full 5 stars to her)

The guests were gently coming and going. And as we  finished our long course lunch, a gentle back ground western music started playing .This kept the spirits high for all inside the restaurant.

As we left the premises of Namaste India Indian restaurant ,and as the more and more tourists started coming in, i could not resist saying a big  thank you to the front bar staff for the excellent work put up there and so did Pavel.

I am surely coming back to this place again soon and with a bigger guest number.

 Enjoy Your Meals !!!!

I decided to give a try to the Dilli6 The Indian subway based concept restaurant .It is opened by Mr Abhijeet Sawaani and his beautiful Girlfriend Marketa .It is  comfortably situated close to the metro Koblisy,Prague  8.

I am a huge fan of Entrepreneurship and  often write about it and the power of  goal settings on my blog at noblethoughts. This place is true example of shear raw entrepreneurship….

You could choose from the range of breads/Rice, Main dishes(Proteins) and the side dish and create your decent Indian meal.

Dilli6 The Indian subway- Indian food in Prague

The interior of the place is elegantly designed for you to feel a fusion of an  Indian restaurant  along with the modern American fast food chain concept.

The buffet  although not so varied and large in menu as other places but of high and good quality, consisted of some tenderly semi fried salted potatoes with black pepper. Thick and spicy Channa Masala, Basmati rice and Palak Chicken (Chicken tenderly cooked in Spinach). The table included some original Indian Pickle, Thick sweet and salted yogurt ,Beetroot Salad, a couple of Indian Chutney. I ordered for the plate of soup  while my wife chose to hit straight the main menu  which looked so appetizing and mouth watering. The creamy Vegetable soup was indeed delicious  and cooked with dedication and well served. Marketa brought me a Glass of Non- alcoholic beer and my wife ordered for a glass of Ginger tonic for her.

While we were enjoying and chatting:

I was greeted by Abhijit who introduced me to his entrepreneurial endeavour here  and how they planned with Marketa to grow it in the times to come. I was  surprised to know from him that the tender Palak Chicken I was eating was  first cooked in Tandoor and then gradually cooked on gentle fire along with the spinach.

Dilli6

This is something I would say so different and unique to the usual boiling of the chicken you would find. This is what  gave the mouthwatering touch to the dish……

The place was frequented by oncoming customers who seemed to be regular visitors here and seemed to be happy enjoying the atmosphere.

They had on background some soothing Indian music playing while Marketa and Abhijit narrated about their patented unique Concept Meal.

I with my wife had some good time enjoying the well cooked lunch and served with much love .I was duly recommended to try the in house dessert specialty of Gajrela ( seasonal pudding made from carrots). It was so proudly served hot and added so well to our culmination of the appetizing Indian meal.

We enjoyed the subway way:)))

The place is true example of the entrepreneurial effort  and To go ahead and do the thing attitude of both Abhijit and Marketa.

A big applause to both of you for the initiative and shall be checking back and following their growth.

Enjoy your meals…….

Yesterday for a meetup with a Latin American friend we chose to have Indian lunch. We met at my favorite Indian Jewel Restaurant in the old town of Prague.

Now what I love about Indian Jewel is its so centrally located position right next to the famous Astronomical Clock in Old town and the Charles Bridge .This makes is so easy  meeting with friends and for business meetings. It just becomes feasible for everyone. Just out side the Restaurant you can see their huge Summer Terrace. This is  just mind blowing  with the amount of people that can lunch/dine there at a time.

Indian Jewel Restaurant-Indian food in Prague

The adjacent Summer Terrace is from an Irish Pub where you can see people drinking and enjoying beer. They usually converge to the Yummy Indian Food at Indian Jewel subsequently.

My wife  joined me as well for the lunch. She was so thrilled to observe this convergence of taste. From beer to the mouthwatering Indian food.

Since the weather was getting little chilly,

So we decided to sit inside the restaurant (love the interiors of this place). The waiter greeted us  with the wide smile  for which I love this place. Asked for the order, gently penning down duly in to his order book in hand.

Indian Jewel Restaurant-Indian food in Prague

We were gently told that today being a holiday they do not serve lunch menus as such. We chose “A la carte”. My friend since a lamb lover chose to taste the medium spiced Rogan josh with some Garlic Naan. I ordered for myself  Chicken Tikka Masala (obviously hot spicy as I love it) and my wife ordered for Hot Dal Makhani( her favourite). The Dal Makhani was  duly served in a small eye catching Indian style traditional bucket .

We ordered for some thick and creamy Raita as a side dish to keep the check on the spicy affects of the food  and plate of  vegetable Salad .The Salad was served in a huge plate to us. Since I am a big rice lover ordered for a fluffy plate of hot  Basmati rice which looked so  attractive on the table. All this time we enjoyed our meal.

Indian Jewel Restaurant-Indian food in Prague

We talked about ….

Indian food and Indian culture, Latin America and the Spanish restaurants in Prague and life and business and all that was so pending to be talked about in our minds:)

The yummy Rogan josh ,spicy chicken tikka Masala ,thick condensed  Raita  and the yummy full of butter Dal Makhani gently melting in our mouths .While we laughed and enjoyed our chatting and I could see the empty hall to which we had entered  into was now slowly getting filled up.

On looking around  more than half of the place was full with Indian tourists .They were lavishly enjoying every bit of the yummy food here.

2 hours almost flew by..

As we  chatted and enjoyed our meal. It was by now that i could feel and see that we all have had our fill of the lunch and its time for those yummy Indian sweets :)))

I and my friend we ordered for hot Gulab Jamun and my wife chose to try the thick Rice Kheer what they had on board.

We enjoyed every bit of our food in Indian Jewel Restaurant  and the time so well spent with the restaurant almost full by now as we were leaving.

The serving staff so pleasant and smiling that it just elevated the appetite for the guests I presume….

We agreed on our return to this place next month again for another round of  yummy Indian meal. Next on the agenda would be  some Spanish food at a place of choice of my friend 🙂

For me, The Indian Jewel Restaurant remains a feather in the cap for the Indian food in Prague with its original indigenous and authentic way of cooking and serving the true Indian food in the heart of Prague..

Enjoy your meals and love to you all…

Indian food in Centre -Indian food in Prague

Lal Qila  in Prague is a newly renovated Restaurant providing Indian food right in the Centre of Prague where i had my mind blowing lunch yesterday. Lal Qila means the Red Fort in English is a historic fort that takes us back to the history of the Medieval India. In the modern day now it has become famous for its street food and range of exciting restaurants that have come up around the Lal Qila In Delhi.

The place had been closed for some time for renovation. It has come up really beautiful from inside out .The food they offer is a buffet menu during the lunch  hours, happens to be fully refreshing and filling ,right with a new start Indian food in Centre of the town i guess:)

The buffet menu……

It had wide menu starting with some yummy Tomato Soup and further  included spicy Potatoes mashed in aromatic Indian spices, Rajma tenderly cooked, Paneer masala, Mixed vegetable dish(a mixture of different vegetables cooked gently in Indian spices) with some fresh Salad on side.

The non vegetarian dish was a yummy  Traditional Indian Chicken Curry   accompanied by hot fluffy Basmati rice. To my big surprise they had on board  soft and tender hot Chicken wings as well included in to the buffet although this is not a very Indian combination of dishes but i decided to have a  bite of it and  enjoyed it:)))))

The hot Naans were served to each table separately coming in  nice metallic traditional Naan Plate.

I ordered for some Salted Lassi (my favourite) for drinks which was duly served promptly with due care and attention.

Indian food in Centre -Indian food in Prague

The service of the place is awesome some what unique with the serving staff wearing Red Kurta on them ,a some what traditional Bengali feature I would say. It looked awesome and soothing with the light and cool interiors of the newly renovated place.

Indian food in Centre -Indian food in Prague

The back end music played was a mixture of Hindi and Bengali songs creating a some what pleasant an experience.

I finished my lunch with some sweet Sooji Halwa what they had for dessert adding to my full satisfaction….

The over all place seems so quiet, comfortable and well served with some good food and service on board. The service of the place is just excellent .The incoming guest feels so enlightened and happy right from the moment you are in there.

I would highly recommend this place to friends and others to go to for true Indian food experience.

 Enjoy your meals…..

Sada Punjab translated from Punjabi language in English as “Our Punjab”, Its a small and cozy family run Indian Restaurant where I enjoyed my lunch today. The place is so different than many of the fancy Indian restaurants in the town with their homely atmosphere.

Its run by a family who dedicatedly brings to the town a  close to the  home made Indian food with their  authentic home touch service.

The interior of the restaurant is so informal and ground to earth with the food  equally so tasty and close to what you would eat in a typical house in Punjab.

Sada Punjab-Small & Cozy Family Run Restaurant in Prague 10-Indian food in Prague

Like any where else they had the all you can eat buffet to my surprise, which included of some Aloo baingan sabzi (Eggplant mashed with spiced Potatoes cooked so tasty with that home made touch),Chicken tikka  MasalaKala ChanaRaita  with Vegetable Salad with the hot plain rice and Naans duly served separately to each of the guest .

This serving of the Naan separately to each Guest was so reminding of that very family and cohesiveness and of the home made meal back in India:)

Mr Rasal Singh with his wife and 2 beautiful kids have made the place, so comfortable cozy  family run restaurant as home and you could feel it in the air of the place .The not so many guest sitting seemed to be pretty happy and content around.

I had some coke for the drinks accompanied and some sweet mouthwatering Rasgulla to finish the homely experience of lunch.

Was offered a hot cup of tea immediately after the content lunch making it the true home experience that I would have had back in India.

Shall be returning back here next time with family  whenever would have that nostalgia of India:)))

Enjoy your meals…

Being in Prague 5 area today after meetings I decided to have a quick lunch at the recently opened Indian Restaurant Rangoli.

Rangoli in Hindi means an ancient traditional art form passed on from generation to generation.

The entrance of the restaurant looked attractive and beautifully designed but the hind side of it is that there is   no immediate parking place near to the restaurant. So after doing a little bit of spade work on the parking place I could finally get to the restaurant.

Right at the reception on the ground floor was greeted by the guy there and was directed to the basement for the Buffet lunch menu.

The buffet display of lunch menu was alluring with beautiful traditionally Indian  carved dish containers full of all the yummy mouthwatering dishes.

Quick Lunch at Rangoli-The New Colourful Restaurant -Indian Food in Europe

Was greeted by a staff in charge of the place with a some sort of tiredness in voice and face, but the plates on the table looked attractive and big:)))

This is the time of Hindu Navratari (when  non vegetarian including of egg is not eaten by many in India),so i went on filling my plate with  some vegetarian dishes in place.

To my delight ,There was RajmaDal channa shimla mirch (Capsicum)masala which caught my eyes immediately. On careful inspection i could find also a dish called Broccoli masala(not a traditional Indian dish or perhaps I never heard of it ever).Never the less I had a   serving of it as well to get the taste.(Tasted good)

The Naans were brought in hot. The table had to my surprise some thing unique i had never ever seen at any other place in Prague, it had more than 6 varieties of  chutney (or sauces perhaps, I could not taste them all).

The menu had some good crispy papadums which were really yummy and to my full enjoyment.

The interior of the restaurant is decent and felt good but looked empty to my surprise (time was just 1:30 pm).The place had more of the working staff wandering here and there rather than the customers.

Quick Lunch at Rangoli-The New Colourful Restaurant -Indian Food in Europe

The quality of the food i enjoyed in general if only the simla mirch masala had some more capsicum in it than the load of potatoes it had. Also if the Rajma  (really yummy cooked) container was refilled etiquette while the customers were still enjoying meals  and not left empty.

The experience was more or less good with me finishing the lunch with some sweet kheer they had on board. I did not order any thing to drink as usually I do with my non alcoholic beers or some mango/salted  lassi this time.

I do hope this shall improve in the times to come for them till my next visit there.

 Enjoy your meals……….

Last week  during my hectic schedule with the launch of our new Digital marketing company at victoriadigitals ,I saw myself landing into Nebusice  for the thali experience at Nebu restaurent, just outskirts of Prague. I hit into the famous and the so in news Nebu Restaurent. This is a Pan Asian Grill Restaurant with whole range of Indian food on their menu and not only…

Thali Experience at Nebu-Indian food in Prague

The place….

It is situated in  a peaceful surroundings with all the greenery around. The  sound of birds enchanting in the air. As I entered  the place was greeted by the guy at the reception with his warm smile embracing full hospitality.

Nebu boasts of the true Gastronomy experience ensuring it to be cozy and comfortable of a true eat out with fancy interiors which would  awaken the appetite in you instantly. And that’s what happened with me😊)))

So,I chose to try their so proudly advertised Nebu Thali (Non vegetarian version),which was served in a short span of time with the big smile and love rendered.

Thali Experience at Nebu-Indian food in Prague

I ordered for some Non alcoholic beer as usual  which they  served chilled on their in-house bar (wide spectra of cocktails and wines). The experience of  Thali was awesome with some fantastic mouth-watering Roghan josh ,Chicken tikka, and some truly made to feel you good  Naan and few other dishes accompanied.

While enjoying the fantastic dish ,I was greeted by the Owner of the place Mr Sunil Chawla, who happens to be a dynamic man of all flares  and taste and a true party man. He indeed  is fond of fine dining and drinks and a true experience creator as per the short chat we had with him😊

The Nebu Thali experience was unique, one of its kind and I was so ever happy dropping in here and shall look forward to the future meals here with family and friends.

Yes ,Its the start of the spring we have now. The time and mood is so ideal for some good food, take a breath back  and gather all your energies to hug the upcoming summers.

And when we talk of food and in my case if it is Indian food, what could be  better than a mouth watering mind-blowing Chicken Tikka Masala served hot with some fresh Naan coming straight from the oven on to your plate.

Start of the Spring With Mind-Blowing Chicken Tikka Masala-Indian food in Europe

So here I was on this day  today for it at the Indian Jewel Restaurant for lunch enjoying their renowned Chicken Tikka Masala Menu served every afternoon. The food i loved every bit of it along with my ever time childhood favourite lemon onion and green chilli salad and a glass of Non alcoholic beer.

Start of the Spring With Mind-Blowing Chicken Tikka Masala-Indian food in Europe

What remarkable of this place I have always loved for is the multiculturalism. It is one place in Prague where you would find people of different cultures and nationalities enjoying the proud Indian Food (my respect and love to all).

Start of the Spring With Mind-Blowing Chicken Tikka Masala-Indian food in Europe

This time it was an Arabic family enjoying the food along with a small child who was asking more of those hot Naans they had ordered and behind me a group of Chinese enjoying the same:)

Ordered for a similar take away for a friend of mine whom I was seeing after lunch in his office and whom I have not met for quite some time.

I love the place as much as I would want my next meeting to be here with my friends and loved ones. The memories of the Mind-Blowing Chicken Tikka Masala at Indian Jewel Restaurant will stay for long.

 Enjoy your meals…….

One thing I love living in Prague is that you have the options to eat at  all the new Indian Restaurants opening all around the town(and the country) at this beautiful time of the year.

And once again I  invited few my friends for the long asked for Indian meal, that I decided to finally take care of during the end of the year.

The place we chose was the new Indian Restaurant Namaste India for a quick lunch in between the work schedules.

Year End Lunch at Restaurant Namaste In Prague 8-Indian Food in Europe

The place is recently opened and have a proud all you can eat lunch buffet for 135 Czk (Around 6 Euro)a plate. I was so surprised to see the wide range of dishes they have on board  starting chicken and vegetarian dishes to an original Lamb dish (Yes you read it correct, Lamb dish )included right in the cost of the buffet menu. This has never been accomplished in Prague earlier to my knowledge:)))

Year End Lunch at Restaurant Namaste In Prague 8-Indian Food in Europe

I must give a big applause to the owners of the Namaste India  for this achievement. The menu had good choice of vegetable salad  and a quick milk kheer to go as the dessert.

There is a decent bar available for the drinks to order from with a pretty decent service rendered. The bar has on board 3-4 different types of freshly made juices which can be ordered separately as a supplement to the buffet menu.

The restaurant as whole can boast of an excellent service on board they have and I shall look forward to be back here soon with more time at hand.

The lunch was quick and enjoyable with my friends all happy and content leaving with good memories of the time spent together:))))

Year End Lunch at Restaurant Namaste In Prague 8-Indian Food in Europe

Once again I do feel so proud and honoured to see the Indian food loved and enjoyed by the global community from all around the world.

 Happy Meals……

I have always loved eating Momos (DUMPLINGS)  ever since my childhood and that part of life spent in the east of India. (The momos is a common dish in eastern India like in Tibet and Nepal).

In Prague did try it a few times in one of the Chinese or Vietnamese food joints but that satisfaction of the true authentic Nepalese /Indian momos was never there.

Recently came to know that Indian and Nepalese Restaurant Kathmandu has it on their menu  and here I was landing up there along with my wife for the momos treat  today.

The Taste of Momos in Prague-Indian Food in Europe

The restaurant although not easily accessible by car as the street in Prague 1 where it is  situated is one way and the parking car  is a big issue here. But my lust for the momos with spicy sauces was so high that I did finally resolve it by getting a parking place right at the corner of the street:)

The restaurant manager was smart and communicative Nepali who greeted us with full welcome and affection.

The Taste of Momos in Prague-Indian Food in Europe

They have usual day menu of Indian food being served during the working day, but my target was only to try the true Nepali Momo here and no more.

We ordered for a 2 plates of Chicken momos with the spicy Nepalese sauce with it. For the drinks ,my wife ordered for the draught Czech beer dark Svijany (her favourite) and myself a non-alcoholic Birell as always:)

The Nepalese music was on play which was some what reminding me child hood travels to the hill stations in India  where you would find similar type of atmosphere in small food joints .

Although it was  pretty long wait before the wonderful dish came in front of us and was served along with the secret Nepali sauce(chutney made from cashew ,sesame seeds and other spices) .The sauce to my amazement was light green in colour as to usual red coloured spicy sauce we are used to back in India. But to my amazement the taste of the sauce was so tasty and spicy as it was the way how it was eaten in true hills of Nepal.

The portions of the Momo were big enough but since the wait for them was long and the taste so yummy that we ordered for a second additional plate for each of us.

This is actually how i have been programmed to eat Momos since childhood. Always eat 2 portions of it, nothing less:)))

The wait again was worth its time and here we had another portion of momos for us to enjoy.

We enjoyed the plates served along with the second round of respective beers for us  and to our content..

The Taste of Momos in Prague-Indian Food in Europe

Although, the service not so fast as should be, the manager was talkative and humorous guy who kept the wait pleasant.

I shall definitely pop in here again for the Yummy Spicy authentic Nepalese Momo and tasty Indian dishes what they have on board.

Enjoy Your meals……..

As a child, I have  always been fascinated by the tasty mouth watering Rural Punjabi dishes. And when the opportunity came this weekend to enjoy it once again ,I was all out for it with or without company what so ever. This much is the love for the Rural Punjabi food in me:))))

This time it was the Indian Aroma Restaurant in Krizikova, Prague 8

The restaurant was as should be in the late Sunday evening a quiet place to be with few guests scattered on tables across the place duly served and enjoying the enchanting Indian food.

The staff taking care of the guests carefully and sincerely..

A mind soothing Indian soundtrack played at the back.

The Tasty Punjabi meal on the weekend-Indian Food in Europe

I ordered for  the weekly menu of  “Makki ki Roti and Sarso ka Saag with  lamb meat” . This is  rural Punjab dish in the Northern India which is usually served with tempting home made clarified butter called Desi Ghee

The Tasty Punjabi meal on the weekend-Indian Food in Europe

The dish was served  so well that it brought in me the true emotions of being in India any where at one of those indigenous restaurants serving the true north Indian Punjabi food.

The Lamb meat chunks were so well and tenderly cooked in the Spinach with the butter Ghee floating over it ,that it did not take me long to finish with the yummy 2 chapatis made of Makki and order for another 2 extra.

The Tasty Punjabi meal on the weekend-Indian Food in Europe

The extras to my surprise were so tender and soft and came on just within 5 minutes. A mind boggling show for me:)

The menu as well included some salted with lemon fresh Radish and Onion and green chilies (This is how its originally eaten in the Rurals of Northern India)

I had the full enjoyment of the tasty Makki Ki roti menu for the next 30 minutes along with the Non-alcoholic Beer (Staropramen, Czech beer) what they had on board.

To end up the lovely experience of taste fantasy and reminiscences from childhood, I ordered for some freshly made Mango kheer which was such an add on  topping to the mind boggling experience.

The staff was polite with good service oriented.

I shall be looking forward to their new menus in times to come.

Enjoy your meals……

After my prolonged sudden unforeseen health issues with leg nerval compression and time of Navratri being now, when only vegetarian meal is  what I could look for ,I invaded  for the recurring  vegetarian meal this week (alone by myself) at one of my  favourite restaurants IBN-2 in Prague 6.

Since i reached the place by almost 2:30 afternoon, I was expecting to be late for the daily all you can eat buffet menu (They  close by 3 pm on weekdays). To my surprise the restaurant was still full with enough people eating and enjoying the yummy food there.

The smooth soothing Indian music was playing ,keeping the emotional atmosphere alive as usual .This is what i love the place for always…

The vegetarian part of the buffet was Aloo mutter ( Punjabi dish from the Indian subcontinent which is made from potatoes (Aloo) and peas (matter) in a spiced creamy tomato based sauce.) , Rajma (Red kidney beans in thick spiced gravy). This was accompanied by hot crispy butter Naan (oven-baked flatbread)freshly reloaded to the buffet table by the disciplined staff.

The Aloomater was so tenderly cooked as if fully melting in mouth.

Two varieties of  basmati rice along with thick and dense Dahi (traditional fermented milk product),vegetable salad  and green mint chutney added to my craving taste buds for the long time missing good Indian food.

The Dahi (fermented yogurt) being thick and filling avoided me from ordering for my usual Salted glass of Lassi.

The quick  dessert part of the buffet included yummy, mouth watering hot Gulab Jamuns.(oh my ,how the taste of it still stays in my mouth:)))))

Vegetarian Meal During Navratri-Indian food in Europe

The food ,atmosphere, people, staff and the energy which the place has once again proved of its name and reputation as the time flies.

Vegetarian Meal During Navratri-Indian food in Europe

Hope to be back here and not once in times to come.

 Enjoy your meals…….

During the last couple of weeks ,I have been passing often through  the new Pakistani Restaurant Indus opened in the Prague 6 area ,always wondering on the fancy decorations from outside and the new take away window shop set up from outside(The one similar to we usually see in the take away joints in Indian subcontinent).

The rush of the hour and the work routines did not allow me to pop in and have a look at the newly opened restaurant and enjoy some yummy Mughlai  and grill dishes from there.

Last week while in the company of my daughter, I finally did take out the time on her initiative to try out some Hyderabadi Biryani from the place.

As we entered the restaurant ,I was amazed to see the huge machine throwing out fresh sweet Lassi from a tap. Now this is something new ,never seen earlier in Prague immediately caught my eyes and had to take a photo of it.

The restaurant inside is   fancy decorated in the authentic Pakistani way with the half of the place full  with enchanting sounds of the guests. As we ordered for the take away Hyderabadi Biryani for us, we were offered complimentary fresh and cold Lassi. (To my daughter’s delight).

The Biryani came out duly packed in a lovely clean packing with fresh Raita (Yogurt/Curd) and vegetable salad accompanied.

True South Indian Fest

I have always had a love for the South Indian food. This developed more as we grew with my Mom cooking some real good authentic Dosa and Idli at home with some real spicy mouth watering Sambar.

After moving out from parents, the tradition still continued with me looking for South Indian meals in and around ,on and off whenever possible.

This Saturday we landed up with my wife in the “Kerala Mini Sadhya and Dosa Menu “South Indian evening meal  by the Restaurant Signature in Karlin ,Prague 8.The special deal was offered by them as a weekend offer starting from 6 pm  till 9 pm.

We ordered  Thali menu for us each with me ordering for a thick condensed yummy Mango shake along with it and my wife checking upon the Granite Juice.

They had the choice on menu for Dosa and Rice menus, but to our own surprise we chose to go in for rice menu.

The yummy thali plates of Ceramic came in filled with the mouthwatering Sambar and Tomato Rasam (my all time favorite). The Rice portions were cleanly set up on fresh Banana leaves on the Ceramic plates, making the experience so very that Kerala type:)

Apart from above the Thali included  Cabbage Thoran, Avial, Vada, Coconut rice, Poppadom,Pickle and
Paruppu payasam.

The Service at the Restaurant was a smiling good with the atmosphere so very energetic and urban.

Enjoy Your meals!!!

During my present trip to India, while enjoying the warmth of living with my parents and the all comforts, we tried to do an experiment of cooking a new dish with a mixture of  Minced Lamb Meat with fresh Mutton kidney meat ( Gurda in Hindi as its called).

This is how the freshly minced lamb meat looked like uncooked.

My younger cousin brother who is at his core a full-fledged cook apart from being a full time Chartered Accountant took the charge of getting the lamb products from the meat shop to the kitchen. He took control of the whole cooking process with help from us only for the ingredient vegetable like onion, ginger, garlic etc. cutting and making ready for him.

My wife’s birthday  happened to be last week  and since she is on sick leave these days due to her medical treatment  and the day happened to be a Tuesday(Non-meat eating day for us),I decided to treat her with some authentic Indian vegetarian food for dinner.

She is  big lover of Paneer( Indian cottage cheese) dishes and could stand in huge wait of lines at all those fast food restaurants for it whenever we travel to India 🙂

So our obvious choice for the dinner was Paneer Masala and her favorite of all time the one and only one Malai Kofta.

The best and closest place for me as obvious would be one of  my all time best IBN-2 in Dejvicka. So dinner for my wife at Home was quickly ordered and packed as a “Take away” as  soon as I reached there within 15-20 minutes of time with hot and crispy Butter Naan.

On my request  for the Paneer masala to be non-spicy due to my wife’s medical reasons, it was  duly done to the need.

We were surprised to see a complimentary pack of sweet Boondi in the take away when I unpacked the dinner at home.

All in all, the dinner was so yummy and mind boggling tasty with the taste of the tender Malai kofta still lingering in my mouth some where:)

IBN as ever before proved itself as the great place to cater to good Indian food and customer care. Birthday dinner For my wife at home was a part of the celebration 🙂

Last  Saturday ,got a call from of friend of mine who happens to have a meat business and caters to few local Restaurants for their meat supplies.

He allured me buy  a fresh Lamb meat from him ,igniting me to go in for the cooking of Hyderabadi Biryani at home. The idea appealed to me as I have been promising and delaying for long my neighbours for quite long now cooking and sharing some traditional Indian  mouthwatering  Lamb dish.

I went on a quick trip to Shalamar foods for some quick buy of  Basmati Rice, Meat Biryani  Masala along with  the other ingredients needed for the Biryani cooking experiment at home. By evening I had all the stock of the needed ingredients in place for the cooking on Sunday:)

The fundamental contribution came in from my wife, who happens to be on sick leave these days at home, agreed to chop up basic vegetables needed for the  5 kgs of lamb  meat I had bought for the Biryani.

So by early afternoon ,I had everything set up for the Hyderabadi Biryani cooking. It took me about 4 hours of time to finally come up with the yummy aroma in our house of the mouthwatering Biryani at last.

Immediate, after the yummy dish was  ready to go, it took not much of time to reach for all  our neighbours (3 families of them) enjoy the every bit of the tasty dish and listen to collection of some good Hindi songs (They all love Bollywood music)

A cold plate of tasty Rasgulla was an  extra to add on to the adventurous yummy evening.

The full recipe for the Hyderabadi meat Biryani, shall be putting up in the recipes soon

Down below is the glimpse of the homemade delicates.

As this is the time of Navratri for me when I do not eat any thing non -vegetarian, I landed up yesterday  in the most heard never been before Restaurant Indian Aroma in Prague 8.

I was meeting with  a friend  and he was not as so much in a mood to eat as  than a few beers. It was evening time and since I was hungry like a wolf not have eaten any thing since morning, I ordered for a plate of Spicy  Masala Channa  with butter Naan ,accompanied by some mixed vegetable Raita (Thick Indian Yogurt mixed with cucumber flakes with salt and black pepper)

Raita:

My friend ordered for a glass of draught beer for himself which was served to him instantly chilled cold. For me I ordered for a non alcoholic beer.

The atmosphere was very quiet with couple of tables occupied around with Czech, English and Hindi languages heard of from time to time. The service for the place I would put up at the level of excellent with full care and warmth .

There being a huge Plasma Screen TV at the end of the hall ,we were told that all major sport events including cricket tournaments are relayed there.

I enjoyed my favorite Channa masala with my favourite Salad of onion and green chilies in lime.

The restaurant has a huge garden terrace  with its in house supply of fresh Draught beer.

My over all experience left for the place was pretty good and I would treat this as a good restaurant for any  afternoon office   employees in the proximity and not only.

Down below are we happy fully satisfied:)

Yesterday ,on the call from my old time friend and a famous Sculptor and hand work artist we decided to meet up in the heart of Prague, at  a newly opened Indian Restaurant ,The Amritsar mail. (Its the name of a famous old time Indian train connecting  Kolkata in Bengal to Amritsar town in Punjab, total distance of about 2000 Km)

Decent Indian Food in The Heart of Prague-Indian Food in Europe

Its a compact  restaurant right near to the Passage Lucerne in Wenceslas Square in Prague serving pretty fine Indian food.

My friend since is restricted to eating sweet due to his diabetes  ordered for a coffee which was served to him instantly although coffee being not the prime  part of the Indian cuisine. I ordered for a a non alcoholic beer (Staropramen),although I do not drink last few years now but did need to celebrate meeting with the old friend:)

Since it was a non planned sudden meeting, we ordered for a quick single dish of  Butter Chicken  with Naans and Boondi Raita accompanied by some fresh onion in lime salad (my favourite)

The butter chicken portion was  yummy and fair enough for both of us to enjoy upon on the quick go on our lust for the Indian food. The Raita was fresh. There is big Plasma TV inside playing authentic Hindi and Punjabi Songs, making the atmosphere reminded of the north Indian restaurants.

We ordered for some sweet Kheer, which was cold and grind  with nuts, a great fit for the time and place.

The crowd around was jovial with English ,Czech and Hindi languages heard quite often apart from the fine music playing at the back from the big Plasma TV Screen.

The atmosphere and experience was over all as good as of a busy Indian restaurant in the North India on any working day lunch time…

I finished our meeting over a cup of Masala tea, we both left the place  satisfied and content.

Enjoy your meals!!!

A Tasty Vegetarian Treat Once Again -Yummy as It Was-Indian Food in Europe

Due to my business stress and life solving issues in  general  I had been out of the world of taste and flavour of the Indian food during last years(apart from cooking home of course) .The world of aroma of spices and tingling emotions:)

Yesterday  decided to have a bite for  lunch at my favorite IBN-2 ,which incidentally have shifted their restaurant to a near by address not far from where they had been. Since its the time for the Hindu fasting of Navratri which means eating of no meat ,fish and eggs and be pure vegetarian for a week long, I poured in all the vegetarian dishes that were available on the buffet menu.

It was a lovely combination of the spicy and mouth watering Dal Tadka (lentils),Aloo matar (potatoes  harmoniously cooked with green peas),Green beans in light spicy masala curry .

In additions were duly hosted on house vegetable salad, thick white yogurt and green coriander chutney.

The new place seemed to me more compact and cozy  with the soothing music playing  in  good assimilation with the inner surrounding of the restaurant.

The customers coming in from different nationalities and cultures seemed to be enjoying the new atmosphere and  who seemed to be  not new to the restaurant in my view and felt pretty well at home and comfortable.

I enjoyed the full luxurious buffet with my entire devotion serving my taste buds. Wow! what a play of taste was that……

Drinks were as usual on the serve but since I am not drinking(alcohol ) these days so could  not comment much on them for now.  I finished the meal with  the mouth watering  sweet milk kheer.

Enjoyed my dose of saunf after the meal, paid the well deserved 135 Czk (7 Euros) for the “Eat as much you can buffet” , left the place fully content and satisfied. IBN-2 once again proving itself  with its quality of food and service and that nothing has changed for it during the last period of time.

A Lovely Filling Buffet-Indian food in Europe

Yesterday,  while in between the customer meetings  and with upcoming weekend  mood ,I landed up in my favourite  IBN 2 around 2 pm .The lavish all you can eat buffet was as usual served with 2 appetizing chicken dishes ( Murg Dhaba and Chilly Chicken)  on board and Vegetarian dishes including Aloo-matar (North Indian full of spice aroma dish) and Masala Channa(yummy, my favourite).Had some hot butter Naan along with Murg Dhaba  and channa to start with along with freshly cut vegetable Salad with spicy coriander chutney Topping it up to the real feel of the Indian food experience here in Prague far away from India (Yummy ,what an experience it was!!). I ordered for my all-time favourite from school time A chilled glass of Salted LASSI, which was served by a smart smiling Czech waitress adapted fully to the Indian Hospitality and Service.

Giving ignition to my spice driven hunger I went in ahead for another serving, this time Basmati Rice with tempting Chili chicken along with freshly made Raita (Thick Yogurt mixed with salt and black Pepper).Enjoyed my serving listening to the slow ongoing heart touching Bollywood music and from time to time in between the incoming and outgoing sounds of Czech, English and a few other languages (sorry did not pay attention, was so engrossed with Chili flavour of the chicken :) ))))

Wrapped up with the lunch, had a hot Cappuccino (not very Indian I know -usually its Masala Tea), but needed my dose of Caffeine for the next hectic customer meeting 🙂

Headed out to my meeting fully content and satisfied.

Enjoy your meals!!!
